This week we will
* be stretching out our sentences by adding adjectives (descriptive words)
* be trying to speed up our recall of addition facts
* be working on our science unit of Simple Machines.

November 5th-11th

I look forward to meeting with you to discuss your child's progress.

In the morning of  Friday, November 11th, students will attend a Remembrance Day service in our gymnasium.  We have discussing the services and sacrifices  that animals made using resources from Veteran's affairs.

Monday, October 17th

WALK-A-THON is tomorrow!

Our theme is pajamas.

As the forecast is 12 in the morning and 24 with a humidex of 30 in the afternoon, you may want to send a change of clothes.

Wednesday, October 12th

Picture day is tomorrow, Thursday, October 13th.  We will have a class picture and the students will have individual photos taken.

Walk-a-thon is next week - Tuesday, October 18th .

Hopefully your family has had success collecting donations. 

The students have voted that our theme is PAJAMAS!

Tuesday, October 4th

It will be a short but busy week.
Wednesday is our 1st Gospel Assembly. Thursday is the Thanksgiving Liturgy.
Wednesday is library, please return the books that were borrowed last week.
As Friday is Christian Community Day we will have our Word Wall Words test on Thursday.
I sent home a paper today to help you have your child access Dreambox or Raz-Kidz.

Thursday is Scientists in the School

MOVE IT! 

Discover how simple machines make work easier! Construct your own car while exploring wheels and axles. Go fishing to experiment with levers. Investigate wedges, make your own screw, and learn about inclined planes.

If you are able to volunteer during the afternoon, please call the school hand leave a message for me. 

This is our structure and it wasn't hard to make. All we needed to do was dig holes and put the sticks in.

Monday, September 19th

Thank you to all that have sent in hand sanitizer and boxes of tissues. They are greatly appreciated. 

If you would please send in a pair of earphones for your child in a bag labelled with their name.  

Word Wall Words
We are beginning our Word Wall Words. The students printed them in their journal.  We will be working with these words (because, went, than, I, friends) all week for the WWW test on Friday. 

Classroom Wallets
To help with the concepts of money and number sense ( counting by 5's & 10's) the children were given wallets today to 'hold' their money. They can earn money by having their agenda daily signed, recording the number of minutes read at home, WWW test, keeping their desk clean, etc..  They can spend their money on a variety of things within the classroom.

10:00 a.m. First Communion Info Session

Please remember that THIS Saturday is the meeting at Holy Redeemer Parish Church.  A letter went home last week in your child's agenda.

Procedural Writing

Today in class we followed directions on How To Make A Minion.  We are proud of what we did.

Sept 21- Jan 25 (17 weeks)

Cheese or Pepperoni - $2.25 slice (total for 17 weeks $38.25)

Gluten free Cheese - $2.50 slice (total for 17 weeks $42.50)

Orders are due by this Friday, Sept 16.
